But this spooky image of a skull is actually a pretty landscape picture of a flooded quarry turned on its side.
The chilling photograph of Hodge Close, near Coniston, in Cumbria where at least three divers are known to have died was taken by snapper Peter Bardsley.
The 48-year-old had just clambered down into the quarry when he decided to capture the moment on camera.
